Artist's Statement
My work is an exploration of human vision. I pay great attention to the interaction of shapes, colors and textures in my work. The source of the subjects for the paintings is surprise. Everything that surprises me, I comprehend on canvas in the process of work. It doesn't seem to me that abstract art and realism are different directions of painting. I am sure that painting is above any division into styles. We see painting with our mind, not with our eyes.
I hope that my painting inspires the viewer to reflect, to take new views on the world around him and on himself. I am sure that art encourages us to experience pleasure at the moment when we connect to the space of cultural archetypes that are in consciousness. I use a lot of unusual materials for paintings. In addition to acrylic and oil paints, my tools include construction markers, tools for creating graffiti and tags, pieces of printed advertising, paint that can withstand heating up to 270 °, a construction hair dryer, rollers and spatulas.
